Local hero Mugison plays the title track off his fab new album Mugiboogie at
his Aldrei fór ég suður festival in Ísafjörður. Shot and edited by Stuart Rogers.
King Creosote (aka Kenny Anderson) taps into Twin Tub Twin Ísafjörður during
the Aldrei fór ég suður Festival. You can find the original version on KC’s Rocket
D.I.Y. album from 2005.
KC was made the 8-hour drive up from Reykjavik in the hopes of getting a last
minute slot on the festival bill. When that avenue was thwarted KC jumped the
bus ferrying punters back to town and played his songs to a surprised but ecstatic
mob on a couple of journeys to and from the venue.
Shot and edited by Stuart Rogers with sound recorded by Kamilla Einarsdóttir.

Eivör plays Stand By Your Man at Aldrei fór ég suður 2008 with a pickup band
that includes Guðmundur Óskar Guðmundsson from Hjaltalin on bass and Davíð
Þór Jónsson who seems to play every instrument imaginable on drums. Eivör’s
performance was shot during the Easter Sunday dinner that festival founders
Mugison and Papamug threw for the performers in Flateyri.
Shot and edited by Stuart Rogers.
Festival host and head chef Papamug makes his grand entrance at the closing
night dinner for the Aldrei fór ég suður festival. After cooking for close to 200
of the festival’s performers, Mugison’s dad classes it up giving a grandstand
performance covering Elvis’ Can’t Help Falling In Love at Félagsheimilið in
Flateyri. Shot and edited by Stuart Rogers.
Mysterious Marta covers Ævintýri (’Fairytale’ in Icelandic) by the cheesy 70’s
Icelandic band Ævintýri. She also introduces us to her mini me, and we hear
NME journalist Paul Stokes weigh in on what makes a hit pop song. All of that
and more live from Marta’s flat on Mánagata in the idyllic setting of Ísafjörður.
Shot and edited by Stuart Rogers.
