Click above for a live interview from ATP New York on Triple J’s Mornings with Zan. Here’s what
Zan had to say about it…
One of the world’s most unique festivals in coming to Australia. In 2009, Nick Cave and the Bad
Seeds will curate the first ever All Tomorrow’s Parties in Australia. The idea is a simple one: have
bands and artists curate their ultimate line-up, put on a multi-day festival in an interesting venue,
and keep it small so that everyone (bands, punters and all in between) can stay on site.
In 2004 I headed along to the 5th birthday ATP in the UK at this weird time-warp family holiday
park in Camber Sands. It was one of the funnest 3 days of my life. Other ATP’s have seen indie
kids pile into an old ship in Los Angeles.
This morning we were taken to a strange country club in upstate New York where a bunch of
legendary, obscure and ace bands have been rockin’ out for 3 days. Australian ex-pat Stu Rogers
was our man on the ground, to give you the heads up on which bands were rad, and who we
should be listening out for.
Speaking of which, listen out for his hot rumour on who’ll be heading to Australia for ATP OZ 2009…
the official announcement will be made on September 30.
